Boswell Family - "Day In The Life" Session

Updated: Dec 28, 2018

A week and a half ago I had the opportunity to photograph a day in the life of the Boswell family in #Tulsa, OK. Blake, Melissa, Molly, and Luke graciously allowed me into their home to "hang out" - at least that's what it feels like I get to do - for several hours of their Friday.

When I met precious Miss Molly, one of the first things she said to me was, "It looks like you have a baby in your tummy!" Well, at least she wasn't wrong - haha! After we woke up little brother Luke, I discovered that Fridays are pancake days in the Boswell house, and both kiddos were SO good at helping momma get them ready!

After breakfast they played and painted, which is a favorite for their household - side note: Melissa is an amazing artist who can do pretty much anything crafty, I'm convinced. If you get a chance, you should definitely go check out her shop at She made the sweetest little sign for our nursery! #calligraphyenvy

Later in the afternoon there was more playing around the house, and then it finally warmed up enough for Molly to find it acceptable to play outside. The late October weather really was perfect... not that I'm biased or anything. I've only been waiting for fall weather since last fall ended...

While little brother was still napping away, Blake (dad) came home from work, and it was time for Molly to get ready for her dance class's Halloween party. As you can see, she was SO excited and proud (and perfectly ADORABLE).

Although I truly cherished spending a majority of my time documenting these marvelous kiddos, I loved some of the moments I witnessed that included mom & dad. If you're a parent, you'll know exactly what these moments feel like: rocking your big boy before his nap, abandoning your coffee because you remembered you needed to empty the dishwasher, reading Pinkalicious for the 5,000th time because it's your kiddos' favorite... and even sneaking a few minutes together to cuddle up on the couch. As a soon-to-be parent myself, these moments were so beautiful to me. They grow up incredibly fast, and before you know it, those "little people" times have come and gone.

Boswells - I had such a lovely time with your wonderfully precious family, and I hope I get the honor to capture you all again in the future.
